After some messing around I finally finished up the first video update. Here it is:
As you can see it has some old and new things in it. Here is a list:
- Different colored blocks
- Grid Pods can be different sizes
- Basic controls and movement of the blocks
- Initial rotation movement
- Blocks constantly fall down
In case you are wondering about the song. It was one of my old songs that I never finished. So I just updated it and put it with the video.
As for what is next, I am planning on adding gravity to the blocks so that if there is nothing under them when placed it falls down. I also want to start working on some music because there is quite a lot of music to be made. I am thinking around 15+ songs are going to be in the game. I am still unsure if I will ask around if people want to put music in the game though. I will be posting previews of what I come up with and I may even do a video of me working on some of the songs in the future. But as it stands now… I have a lot of work ahead of me…
Like that you can finally see gameplay? Starting to get annoyed because the game is still untitled? Leave a comment below.

22 May 2013What if the blocks were to precancel creating more room by allowing 3 color bingo matching blocks to cancel each other. Similarly to crash candy?

22 May 2013At that point it loses that “Tetris” style gameplay that I am aiming for. They style is more like “Bejeweled” where you are trying to find 3 matches in a grid that is already filled up entirely.

24 May 2013What about implementing new shapes and cubes, which will change each time a new block automatically appears, making the game a bit challenging. Like the brick-game from the 80’s

24 May 2013Instead of the blocks changing I was thinking about having the stage change shape. Plus with the added time mechanic it may make the game complicated having the blocks change shape as well as time and the stage.
