I have been getting back to work on Stasis after the release of Glitch in the System. I learned a lot from the experience and will be putting a lot of that into practice. But I now I am getting back in the swing of things with Stasis. For those who don’t know what it is you can check it out here: Stasis – A 2D/3D puzzle game. I recently looked back at my previous work on it and found myself saying:
“This is a mess…”
So, I decided that I will reconstruct the entire game… Again… This is the 3rd time making this system. Nevertheless I began to rebuild the game again and surprisingly it went by fast; 3 days total to restructure the game. I am not sure if I should be proud that I did this so efficiently or if I should be ashamed that it took me a long time to do this before. While, yes, I used my older code as a springboard, it doesn’t change the fact that I finished what took me around 7 months into 3 days. No matter, I have been getting better at managing my time so I should make some huge progress in the near future.
So far everything is back into place minus the sky and the score. I also added some polish to the handling of the blocks; they now glide into place rather than a harsh jump. I will be working on some more art related things after I add a bit more in terms of features. The next thing that I plan to do is flesh out the “cluster” aspect of the game some more.
Excited for the return of Stasis? What would you like me to talk about next? Let me know by leaving a comment!
