Recently, I have been fixing up some issues with my older code. That is why in the last update you seen more movement features. I am doing this now so down the line I don’t have to completely start over if my code gets too unwieldy. But that is beside the point of this post.
What have I done recently? I have improved the GridPod system substantially. The only problem is that it is hard to show that visually… What I can show you is:
- GridPods are back… (Though you could probably already tell)
- New blocks now appear in the center of grid. This will help give easier access to the entirety of the GridPod.
- In not so good news, the blocks don’t fall to the bottom of the grid anymore. Instead the continually fall down passed completely ignoring the grid. This is just temporary as I am looking to add this back in very soon.
If you have been following on Twitter I recently tweeted:
I think it is time for me to focus more on the “game” side.

This is in regards to me working on gameplay more rather than me trying to do all of the art, music, and coding at one time. I want to focus on gameplay so I can get a demo out for you guys. If I need art or music to progress the development of the game (eventually I am going to need some song to put in the background) I will work on that for a short time. But the problem with this approach is that the game will not look that good for a while, at least until I get to a position where the fundamentals are in place. I have finalized what the block design is so I will be posting that later on though.
Like the new focus? Don’t know what GridPods are (Well here is the answer to that one)? Comment and let me know.
